Les Combettes Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010

Do the French make the best Chardonnay? Well all I can say is this is a great wine it’s fresh plenty of acidity no fruit dominates but there is a citric backbone with so much more — 4 days ago

Volnay Robardelle 2014

Rich and decadent but suave on the nose. Some atypical but nice chocolate notes. Starting to come into its own. — a month ago

Les Genevrières Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2016

The weight and depth of this beauty turned into Indian spices, curry leaves and butter. Magical 💕 — 12 hours ago

Vincent Dauvissat

La Forest Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

Another terrific showing from the superb Vincent Dauvissat. After an hour decant the wine shows its racy energy, stony minerality, chamomile, oyster shells and its seamless integration of oak and acid. Finishes wonderfully long and with great tension. — 12 days ago

Les Grands Charrons Meursault Chardonnay 2015

As usual with Dancer this is a punchy lovely wine. Sweet fruit with a whiff of reduction and rounded oily fruit. Great tangy acidity. In your face and delicious. — 11 days ago

Les Folatières Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2004

I keep finding the Girardin style to be very restrained which I can very much appreciate and all the right character is there but I just feel like there is a magic in going over the top that I just never find here. I did enjoy this quite a bit but I would be hunting for a different producer in Folatieres. What can be done at the site that I have seen is remarkable. Not docking this for being on point though. — a month ago

La Voûte Saint-Vincent Morgon Gamay 2018

Superb entry-level cuvée 13-14 €. The know-how is felt (silky mouth). A Morgon as we like: both light (Gamay grape) with roundness, and a certain aromatic intensity which makes the charm of this appellation producing gourmet wines. We will wait for more complexity and length of prestigious Desvignes cuvées (which cost double) this one is just immediate pleasure. To buy by case — 7 days ago
