Fattoria Poggio di Sotto

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Juicy and vibrant. Red/dark fruit dominate but there is also earthy flavours and the unmistakeable old world musty library book thing. Silky. Firm but well integrated tannins and high acidity. Great food wine. Better in 5 years. — 4 months ago

Altesino

Brunello di Montalcino 2016

Always like Altesino wines. Obviously no Poggio di Sotto or Stella de Campalto but this is still very delicious. Continue to love the Italian 2016s! Great fruit, well balanced acid, nice lifting finish. Good pairing with pork chops with a porchetta style seasoning. — 2 years ago

— 3 years ago

Caprera

Sotto Il Ceraso Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo

ahhh, what a fucking joy!!! vibrant, fresh, fun and just enough complexity to keep you engaged. very lovely stemmy herbal things happening but the main focus here is just ripe crunchy red fruit. mark my words—this will be a cerasuolo summer. — 4 months ago

Colle Massari

Rosso Riserva Montecucco Sangiovese Blend 2016

Quite nice. A good value when I bought it and even better now as it’s going for $19. From the owners of Poggio di Sotto which we had the good fortune to taste at recently. Quite complete. Tannins at this point are still pretty forbidding, but at this price a good one to stock away for the future. — 2 years ago
