What a beautiful wine. Nothing macho or international about this super Tuscan, it’s very light on its feet, combining bright iron-y mineral notes with dried rose florals and wild red berry aromas. Feels unmistakably Tuscan you’d swear there was some sangiovese. Palate is sweet on the attack, then a wash of acid takes over and hangs on beautifully, leading in to the spicy but nimble tannins that tingle, again counterbalanced by a ripe, sexy rush of fruit. Sour cherry to blood orange and everything in between. Very finessed, yet no lack of structure. Must put a few in the cellar if I can still find them around.
