"my mouth is burning right now, hard to taste" - Felipe, depois de encher a cara de pimenta e não poder dar palpite sobre o vinho. Mas eh bom. — 5 years ago
Dark ruby with a hint of coffee tint on the edges, this wine smells of brown sugar, stewed plums, and mulling spices. In the mouth, flavors of plum jam, roasted fig and sweet cedar nestle in a velvety bed of tannins. Still bright with acidity — 7 years ago

Amazing journey through blackberry jamminess followed by a luxurious ride of tannins and a cherry finish; foxen is the Mercedes of wines.. never disappoints! — 10 years ago
Unbelievable after ~30yrs. Tarry, woody. Tar and asparagus on the nose. Everything is humming like an old Mercedes diesel engine. With Fish. — 3 years ago
Pinot in a Riesling bottle! The Winery is close to Stuttgart less than 20 Miles from Porsche and Mercedes-Benz in Württemberg/Germany. There is a ton of fruit in this, quite dark. More Oregon than Burgundy. Super elegant. Tannins fully resolved. Dark cherries, hint blueberries and crushed marble, touch orange juice. Drink now. Given the diversity of terroir altitudes/mountains and different styles and affordability Germany is now in my opinion the leader in Pinot Noir and this is another prime example. Stout, upstanding and ready to deliver as good as it gets ~ the Juggernaut is all that is good about Cabernet near the Napa Valley. Hillside Vineyards tests the grower and the vines, but the results can be extraordinary. Black currant, cherry, new Mercedes leather, cassis, and the scent of cassis and licorice are just one side of the scale of this wine. This wine is fierce, brave and delicious. WK — 7 years ago

Another night, another amazing wine from Thomas Rivers Brown. We ran into him at the vineyard, but luckily all he wanted to talk about was cars! Even though he is an Aston Martin fan, he just picked up this new Mercedes AMG GLE 63S, and was enjoying it thoroughly. So since we did not talk about this wonderful wine, I am plagiarizing their website for tasting notes...which are spot on. “Located just off Hwy 29, north of the town of St. Helena, lies the Tournahu Vineyard. Rocky with exceptional drainage, wines from this vineyard tend toward a mix of powerful fruit and bright acidity. Velvet-like in texture, the wine covers the entire palate in a silky mix of red & black fruit. With additional time in the glass, a creosote-like minerality appears in the mid palate as a harbinger of things to come. A thrilling wine to drink now, those with patience will be rewarded as additional layers of complexity emerge 4-5 years post vintage. A wine & vineyard worthy of our first single vineyard designate.” — 8 years ago

The Guigal factory is a site to behold. It's a factory that pumps out wine like Hyundais, and yet somehow they produce world class Mercedes on the side. White pepper shoots up the nose, with strawberry fruits, lavender and herb aromatics. The wine has a lightness and acidity that bounces but is well integrated and smooth, easy tannins that just bite enough to leave a nice long finish. Guigal's Cote Rotie might be one of the great wine values in the world. — 10 years ago
