A showstopper, an act impeccable concentration with a finish that goes on forever and ever and ever.
The Little Wine #9 is a vintage blend that range from 2015 to 2019. Drop dead gorgeous and absolutely outstanding. One of those wine that takes your breath away.
Day two and it’s reached it’s climax, like hearing Pavarotti breaking loose for all he’s worth.
I wish there was more..
..👃Pronounced intense, very concentrated aromas with a layered complexity that is driven by sun drenched and generous fruit but with plenty of tension. Blackberries and bramble-like strawberry fruit. A perfumed lift with plenty of floral aromas, violet and roses followed by fresh herbs, sweet licorice, raw meat and a warm stone foundation.
👅A deep fruit intensity drives the palate and is balanced by a fresh acidity. Plenty of round tannins brings further structure and is completely balanced and almost totally masked by the concentrated palate. An expansive compexity that opens up with sweet licorice, blue flowers and plentiful of very concentrated ripe dark fruit, over a stone-like base note. Muscular yet graceful impact and full attention on the mid palate through a long and complete finish. — 8 hours ago
Another baffling blind tasting from Sue Bell. Could have sworn these 2 Chenin Blancs were Chardonnays. More ripe and full bodied than I’m used to with Chenin which I often associate with ripe apple but this was more stone fruit. A delicious drink. — 18 days ago
Pulled from my cellar where is has rested since release. This is a carnival of characters with dark fruit, teriyaki, bacon fat, olive tapenade, moist forest floor, hollowed out decomposing log, leather, coco, and coffee. Tannic still with plenty of acid; the finish is as long as the day. Our assessment, considering the abundant secondary characteristics, that this was on the decline and opening now was a bit of a fortuitous save. And while I don’t disagree that now is the time to drink these wines, Day 2 was noticeable brighter with fresher blue fruits and structure even more pronounced. Overall conclusion, these are far from going dead anytime soon but why wait? This was a fabulous bottle and I’m so pleased we were able to share with a dear friend. — 10 days ago
The Signature is a Cabernet Shiraz blend and is Yalumbas best red released each year. There are several previous notes from myself here on Delectable. Plummy, cedar black currant and cigar box - a trace of oak on nose and on the full bodied palate. Going strong at 15 years of age. I have 7 left from an original dozen and would like to have one per year until supplies are exhausted. I can’t see it changing much in the next few years. Not sure why more countries do not blend Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz - they are made for each other. — 2 days ago

Beautiful, dark and inky purple fruit. Earthy and savory with dusty tannins. Should go the distance. — 6 days ago
