It was a Sine Qua Non night (which are always my favorites!). This was surprisingly tight given its age. Came back to it a couple of days later and it was SO MUCH better. If you have this in your cellar and are planning to pull it soon, I’d suggest a 4-hour decant to let it open up. It’ll be fantastic! — 4 years ago

Deep ruby coloration. No translucency. On the nose, minerality, sweet tobacco, anise, and blackberry. On the palate, strong minerality, jammy dark berry and anise, full bodied, long finish. Tannins are still strong but balanced. — 8 months ago

Sipping Fine Wine

A blend of mostly Nero d'Avola adding some Petit Verdot, Syrah and a few other grapes. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet notes and spicy scents. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry, currant like, with notes of cacao, licorice and sweet spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, tobacco and sweet earthy character. Very nice! — 3 years ago

Ripe dark berry fruits, cassis, light vanilla, autumn leaves, and hint of cured meat fill the dark brooding nose. Fresh cherry and raspberry, peppery spice add to flavors. Medium to full body. The acidity is as good as it gets - round , vivid but not obstructive. The lightly candied tannins are soft yet assertive.
Supposedly one vine only produces one bottle, hence the name Una Cepa. A superb RdD. — 4 years ago
