Quarantadue 42 Barbaresco 2014

Lyle Fass
9.3

Been a bit over 4 years since I have had the. Nose is classic with tar, tobacco, ripe mid season cherries, really provocative spice notes, and some chestnut. Palate is ripe and minty with ripe but substantial tannins and not that much finesse which I hope will develop with air. Juicy and so clean but lacking some excitement. — 25 days ago

Nana Estate

Cassiopeia Red Blend 2019

#kosherwineSunday

Inky in color with a short purple rim.

Full bodied, bold and smooth, with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very fruity, with nice complexity.

Showing black currants, cooked plums, sweet cherries, oak, spices, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, black pepper, dark coffee, herbs, chocolates and light vegetables.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 3 year old Syrah blend from Israel is very interesting. Fruit forward with a smooth mouthfeel. Rich and flavorful.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime. Very easy drinking, and good by itself or with food.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

A blend of 85% Syrah, 12% Petite Sirah and 3% Petit verdot. Grapes are grown in the desert. Aged in French oak barrels for 14 months. Kosher and not Mevushal.

14.6% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Orin Swift

Slander California Pinot Noir 2018

I am a big fan of David Swift Phinney wines. In 1998 David founded Orin Swift Cellars; Orin is his father’s middle name and Swift is his mother’s maiden name. Aged 10 mos in French oak, 42% new, Ruby with complex aromas of fresh fruits, floral and herb spice, nice mouthfeel. On the palate flavors of raspberry and cherry with cacao and hints of pepper spice. Rich full chewy tannins, well balanced on long finish ending with fruit and earthy spice. — 2 years ago
