Medium-bright ruby in the glass. Tart red cherry, raspberry, and vanilla on the nose, with smoky spice and hints of tobacco and dried fig. Juicy red fruit dominates, supported by high acidity, medium tannins, and a medium-plus finish. Alcohol is prominent, adding intensity. Needs ample air—after 45 minutes, it was still opening up. Not usually an “after dinner drink” with dessert but this was fantastic! I am not a sherry fan but this was a fabulous brandy/sherry flavor that made me want more. Not overly sweet and almost a slight whiskey flavor as well. — 5 years ago
