Transparent ruby red. Oak, vanilla, spices. Black Cherry. Raspberry? Elegant type of Zinfandel. Smooth. Balanced Fruitiness and spiciness. Highlands Zinfandel Oakville Napa Valley 19 @5115, Happy wine, 231210-240817 — 3 years ago
Pale garnet color with a hint of brick. No oxidation on the nose. Subdued fruity nose. Delicious black raspberry and other berries with supple tannins. Finish is incredibly long. Glad I have more of this vintage. Enjoying at home with poached Faroe Island salmon and spinach in EVOO garlic and red pepper flakes. — 4 years ago
Complex with black cherry cranberry up front and mineral wet stone finish — 6 years ago
We had the 2017 Vintage on 5/19-20/26. Consistently good. Consistent flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and baking spice. New World. Medium bodied. Nice mouthfeel — a month ago
Very good, but I think the 18 has lost balance with too much oak influence — 3 months ago
Incredibly rich but still a delicious Pinot. Herbal aromas of tarragon and spice surround the core of stewed strawberries and black cherry. Palate is dense with creamy tannins and quite a bit of new oak is present. Vanilla, Cherry, and cola on the 30+ second finish. I’ll wait another couple years to open the next one. — 3 years ago
First tastes were deliciously chocolaty. Aftertaste is bittersweet. It’s a thick dark beer. Alcohol content is 6%. — 5 years ago
Last bit from the bottle. Orange color. Smokey and woody. Kept very well for all those years — 3 months ago
Medium Ruby color with layered aromas of fresh berry fruits with floral and woodsy spice notes. On the palate flavors of strawberry and ripe raspberry with cigar box, oak, black tea, citrus, cola and herb floral notes. Well balanced, savory fine tannins, long finish ending with oaky earthy notes. Nice! — 2 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry preserves, cassis, mossy earth, licorice and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins. — 3 years ago

Cote-Rotie comes to The Yorkville Highlands!
N: I opened and let air for 2,hrs while I went about a lamb pulao.
The nose is a bit reticent, only hinting at its black/red core. As it airs out, lots of black plums, pepper, and some treacle.
P: yea that delivers the tarry black/red wonderful tactileness*, coats your palate deliciously like you may think there’s a bottom. Fresh beam of acidity keeps things fresh. Best bottle so far. Coal tar.
Thanks @FirstBottleWines
Day 2: More open knit, some cocoa, red moves into black. Acidity still persistent. — 4 years ago
Blueberry black cherry with some minerality — 5 years ago
We had the 2014 Vintage on 10/1-2/20. This is a good, full bodied, fruit forward Pinot Noir. The lead flavor on the bouquet and palate is black cherry. There is some oak and sweet spice. The tannins need to be smoothed with the aerator. I would buy more. — 6 years ago

Poured into a decanter about two hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of several days. Yes…you read that right. This benefitted greatly from air. The 2019 Syrah SLH pours a purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of blackberries, fig, plum, purple flowers, black pepper, animale, black olive brine, dried green herbs, earth and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+ and loaded with minerals. Initially, this was quite pretty on the nose but backward on the palate. After all of the air, it swung into balance and it was beautiful. Drink now with a lot of air and some patience, through 2039+. — 14 days ago
