Dits del Terra Priorat Carignane 2015

Came out reduced and required ample aeration to open up. Ripe brambly berries, baked plums, hot stones, crushed rock, singed cast iron, fresh tar, cured meat, dried flowers, cinnamon, star anise, sweet brett. Classy and suave, there’s considerable energy and elegance in its texture. Burgundian if you will. Just the right amount of “dirty” adding layers and depth to a beautiful wine. — 5 days ago

Antica Terra

Aurata Chardonnay 2011

Last had this in 2015, and it is SO much better now. Shook off some of its baby fat and is now drinking beautifully. Underappreciated wine from the best winemaker in the Willamette Valley! — 18 days ago

Gran Reserva Terra Alta Garnacha Syrah 2011

For this price!? Loads of spice and Granacha quality. Not a long lasting finnish, but still delicious — 24 days ago

ZBO Ricca Terra Farms The Riverland Zibibbo 2019

Trying to introduce J to the weird and wonderful world of skinsies. While I can't say I've got a convert this time around, the little study certainly provided some food for thought. Spectacular nose which J enjoyed too - Dried apricot, bruised apple, mango, white pepper, clove, fresh rose, and ginger. As with a lot orange wines for new drinkers, the palate's where J got turned off by. Kind of cider-like and a little "fuzzy", with good grip and an acetic zing. There's just enough fruit to keep the savory chicken essence elements at bay. Finishes quite earthy and acidic. I would say this is not a particularly challenging skinsy, but not an introductory one either. Although it's quite nice on the occasion, I have to note that I usually like this cuvée more 🤔 — 24 days ago

Is “skinsy” Tan-generated or is that a common reference in KL? And, may I steal this pronoun for personal use?

@romo Hahaha. I think it's a pretty common term for skin contact/orange wines in Australia. Definitely not an original 😂

Windy Oaks Estate

Terra Narro Pinot Noir 2018

First Terra Narro I’ve had that wasn’t all estate - this is a blend of Chalone and Santa Cruz Mountains. A bit unsettled the first night, tasted like it needs more time. Really drinking well the second night, elegant floral nose and cherries on the palate. Well balanced acidity and tannins. — 9 days ago

Occhio di Terra Malvasia 2017

Malvasia Bianco. Pre-phylloxera vineyards in old crater in Lipari. Pumice, ash and sand soil. Great example of a volcanic wine and minerality. Complex yet quaffable, aromatic herbs, slight honey and smoky notes. Very intriguing wine! — 7 days ago
