14 year Priorat...
2004 was a stellar year but supposedly this is past peak. It probably is... as it feels "heavy". But, I should start with the good.
The nose has evolved from very smelly feet on open, through damp basement, to smoky socks. On the palate, some currant leaning raisin suggesting it is the indeed overdue.
It was a little laborious to drink. Big alc still and some tannins still there (good). Overall, I will not push my luck this long again on Priorat. Worth the 48 bucks though!
PS wife disagrees and puts it at 8/10 which is high on her scale. — 12 days ago
Nice and light, yet full body of taste — 5 days ago
Incredibly floral and aromatic. Laced with spice and juicy red berry fruits with an underlying note of minerality highlighting its tension. Looking forward to tasting this again after a few years of bottle age. It should evolve nicely. I can’t rave enough about Antica Terra’s wines. — 11 hours ago
Julien Fayard, winemaker for Covert Estate, Azur, Taplin Cellars, Matthew Wallace and more, stopped by Fort Worth tonight to showcase a few different wines. A pleasure to meet and share wines with!
I enjoyed tasting this and the Taplin Reserve side by side. Both wines are more red and black fruit driven. The Terra 9 wins the QPR award. Lots of cherries, black cherry, dark chocolate, blackberries and mocha. This could be pop and pour, but is best with 30mins-1hr of air. — 7 days ago
