Storm Point

Philippe Bornard

Point Barre Arbois Pupillin Ploussard 2015

Typically, I'd say opening this in the midst of aged greats would be a bad idea (as with what happened to the 16' Vasse Felix Cab Sauv), but somehow this worked... For me, at least. The crowd was pretty much divided though. I thought it was a nice break... A sort of fresh red kabi to cleanse our palate in between reds. But can you even call this a red... Such a delicate colour... It's more like a rosé or orange wine 🤣 red currant, sour cherries, citrus, cinammon, wet stone, a touch of musk. Delicious ploussard! — 7 days ago

Talisker Dark Storm Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

Smoky Peaty and spirity aromas Also Iodine and Briny notes showing its maritime location. A single malt matured in charred oak casks. There is some conjecture as to whether Talisker is classified as Island or Islay but suffice to say it is the only Distillery on the Isle of Skye. Had a tour of Talisker many years ago after going to the HQ of the MacDonald Clan on Skye. I bought this 1 Litre bottle at Gatwick Airport about 2 months ago before we headed up to Inverness and the Highlands. — 23 days ago
