Disg. 2/14 (07 base)…Always my favorite of the Lieux-Dits and without question one of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the planet, it’s particularly special to have with some bottle age. It’s absolutely as stunning as hoped—rich and powerful with crazy depth to its layers with a deep, complex core of caramelized orchard fruit, roasted nuts, old rum barrels and candied white flowers, all with seamless integration. The palate is generous and detailed, with racy acids, waves of saline laced, chalky Le Mesnil minerals and a finish that just stays with you. A BdB benchmark, legendary bubbles. — 9 months ago
Tasted blind. Reddish amber tawny, translucent. Corky nose. Notes of light red fruit, cherry, herbs. Ethereal in it's delivery and still chewy. Very refined. The light cork taint makes it difficult to guess and the team's guesses are all over the planet (I'm in Bordeaux land). There is some good stuff inside this but cork taint comes on more with air... bummer. (M's 60th bday 3rd of 14) — 5 years ago
The consensus among Biblical scholars is that Jesus turned water into pinot noir for his first miracle. This bottle confirms that, even though it doesn’t quite reach the quality served at Cana that fateful day. — 6 years ago
Very fresh, clean, the softest mousse on the planet. Beautiful citrus, most delicate of minerals, gentle spice, grand acidity, focused precision and balance for days. Excellent. Just overtly expensive. — 4 months ago

Beaujolais muy fresco, acidez en el punto, necesitaba temperatura, un poco de spice — a year ago
On a different planet ... the nose is burgundian to the nth degree. Mature fruits yet still lifted by a bead of acidity. Earthy flavors are beginning to show up but the wine is still very primary. It is wines like these that make me remember why i fell in love with pinot. — 6 years ago
This wine is in its prime. Silky smooth tannins, rich mocha, black plum and baking spices. Very well developed with moderate acidity. The balance is truly incredible. An amazing farewell to NAPA Tony!!! Exceptionally done and it is aging beautifully! — 7 years ago

2022 vintage. Medium/medium heavy body. Some old school notes. Some new school familiarities. Some detention memories. There's a darkness (of fruit) on the edge of town. Enduring legacy. A style she's trying to maintain. Nicely made and hard to say no. 4.15.26. — 2 months ago
