We were very fortunate to be invited to attend a private tasting with Andy Peay a couple weeks ago. We started by tasting through the entire Peay range, and enjoyed them all very much. At the end of the evening, the hosts shared one Peay wine from their private collection that I didn't even know existed- the Elanus, which an estate wine that is only made in exceptional years. The wine was quite a revelation. Wow. Smooth, supple, elegant and ethereal, while delivering layers of complexity and a depth of fruit that was just fabulous. I hope I'll get to try this again sometime. — 13 days ago
Opened this last night and was not impressed - seemed very disjoint. Decided to put the cork back in and put it in the fridge to see if some time brought it into better focus. What a difference that day made. Beautiful aromas of candied strawberry, terrific depth, and a lingering finish. Probably the most dramatic change for an Aubert pinot I’ve witnessed. If you have this in your cellar, I’d suggest either decanting it for a few hours or let it sit for a couple of more years. You will be rewarded! — 18 days ago
This is certainly in the window right now, and Aubert chards are one of those ‘happy place’ wines for me. PnP served chilled. Tropical fruits, lemon, orange zest, and lychee acidity very well balanced by vanilla, brioche, and light mineral notes. A perfect crisp, refreshing spring bottle that complimented the spice of several Asian fusion dishes. — 8 days ago
A fair weather day in the Berkshires today, got into the mid-70's...I'm not ready for the heat yet!
Strawberry / Raspberry / Citrus with Orange bias, perfect for enjoying outside after a day full of chores that the warmer weather oh so generously provides me. Yeah. — 12 days ago
