Leather, plum, medium tannins, and ok acid — 2 months ago
Initially gripping tannins, after two hours of decanting, it drastically changed and softened to allow fruit to come through. Nose: cigar, dark dried cocoa powder, espresso, blackberry black currant, prunes, leather, complex flavors; this wine is excellent. — 4 months ago

Palo Alto on Saturday night with Rafael. Old & still delicious, big & full body! — 3 months ago
Inky in color with a short purplish rim.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing black plums, black currants, cooked cherries, spices, cedar, cola, vanilla, light toast, tobacco, earth, herbs, chocolates, eucalyptus, coffee, peppercorn and licorice.
Long finish with round tannins and cherries.
This is a gorgeous 5-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville in Napa Valley.
Big and bold, yet elegant. Rich and extracted, fruit forward and delicious. Showing lots of chocolate and coffee notes.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime, when tannins show up and bring good structure.
Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Tangy, spicy and interesting.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 to 10 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
14.7% alcohol by volume.
93 points.

Most of wine cool aged in French oak, the rest in stainless with weekly bâtonnage. Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with toasty oak aromas. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and peach with citrus zest and nutty oak notes, well balanced with acidity. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak and mineral spice character. — 2 years ago

Doing a Silverado Vineyards wine dinner on the Sky Princess. What a fabulous group of 12 diners. Always makes the wine taste better. Remembering our visits to the Silverado facility in Napa Valley. — 2 months ago
