I've been a fan (and buyer) of Maybach since their inaugural 2004 but really think things are hitting a high stride with 2012/13.
Super concentrated nose but still impressively balanced on the palate. A great wine!!

From 375ml.
Perhaps just the moment and/or food pairing but I think this is my lowest rating on this to date.

Weston hosted Friday group today and was it definitely a can’t miss tasting. Wow! Absolutely knocked it out of the park with heavy hitter after heavy hitter. Similar to Wednesday group, all wines are tasted blind.

My first Maybach. From the first time it was poured in my glass until the last taste, this was my favorite (though the ‘13 Macdonald tied it in the end). Sweet rhubarb pie on the nose, palate was very clean...not overdone. Red, blue and black fruits, nutmeg and red cinnamon. Insanely good.

Inspired by a recent posting here I popped and shared this with friends that much like I have deviated from "The 100 pts. fascination".

Certainly a very impressive wine it is also a bit predictable what it takes these days to garner that perfect rating from a certain palate.

While certainly impressive, to my palate this is a notch below their (great) 2012.
We're all different but the "bigger is better"-mantra doesn't really work for me any longer.

To quote my two friends @Martin G Rivard and @Mike Rowe this is a bad ass wine eliciting smiles all around (and a great way to start 2017). Parker gave this a perfect score and it is a beauty. Decanting is a must at this point. It's been opening up over the last 4 hours and think it will continue to improve if I can sip more slowly lol. Slightly cloudy, and a bright purple in the glass. On the nose, cassis, vanilla and toast dominate. The sips are long and driven by fruit (blue and blackberries and cassis). Liquid silk in the mouth with sweet tannins and a surprisingly strong acidity. The finish is long. This is a total baby but I had to try it. Happy New Year to all my Delectable friends and especially to my fellow Wine Nerd Herd. I've always believed that sharing wine with friends is the greatest gift and this app has enabled me to do that with friends near and far and connect with some great people. May 2017 be a year of great health and happiness and may all our glasses be full!

Very different from the 2007 we tasted last week.
Opulent nose of cassis, tobacco and ripe black cherries. Palette is nuanced and a touch flamboyant. Rich dark fruits, cassis and sweet spices are balanced by finely-grained tannins, and restrained acidity. A brilliant showing, but lacks the depth and texture of the 07. Still an outstanding showing, which will evolve to a better place, in time.
Thanks to
@Martin G Rivard who allowed me to steal this wine to celebrate my wife's (and her twin) birthday. Thank you so much, Martin!!!

Opened at 2pm and I was scared when I sipped it to make sure the bottle was ok. It was wound tight and I was afraid that it would not show well for dinner. 8 hours later it was PERFECT. It was in full stride and amazed everyone. My 1st Maybach!!! Baby., where have you been all my life!! 😍🍷🍷🍷🍷😍.
This was the runner up WOTN since we have to respect the 61 Musigny and how incredibly well structured it has to be to stand up after 55 years & show as impeccably as it did. However, This is the 2nd place finisher by only .0000000001 point!!!! Lol
