Silverado Vineyards Borreo Ranch Vineyard Borreo Sangiovese 2018, Napa Valley, California

Pretty ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, sweet cherries, strawberries, light oak, vegetables, spices, peppercorn, chocolates and light herbs.

Medium in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, herbs, light earth, vegetables, dark coffee and peppercorn.

Spicy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is an interesting red wine from Napa Valley. This Single Vineyard is showing mild complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Spicy and tangy.

Drinks like a Pinot Noir, but spicy with a Zinfandel flavor profile. Interesting stuff. A great wine for a blind tasting.

I gave it an hour to open up. Gets earthier after 2 hours of airtime.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

100% Sangiovese grapes were aged in French oak barrels (16% new).

14.2% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$38.
