Few Americans understand the depth of Beaujolais due to the market flood by the big producers during the Beaujolais Nouveaux annual festival. The Gamay grape has so much more to offer and Master Sommelier, George Miliotis, shared this great example with me. Dark overripe strawberry and stone minerality. Charcuterie never tasted so good! — 2 days ago

Couple fun bottles shared with Mark and Bryan this afternoon.
Sami Odi wines...a true favorite of mine! Bryan was kind enough to bring an older bottle when he came to town and what a powerhouse. Upon opening, it had a slight carbonic nose to it with gummy and candied fruits, but after letting it sit open for a few hours, the evolution here was remarkable. Blind, this bordered on SQN. It shows this beautifully spicy and savory nose that SQN wines always strut, with peppercorn, grilled rhubarb, smoked brisket and a touch of green olive. As all Sami Odi wines are, the texture on the palate is so pure. Fresh squeezed blackberries dripping over bacon, herbs de Provence, teriyaki, and fresh mixed berry pie out of the oven. A supreme balance of spicy, savory and rich notes. What a wine! @Fraser McKinley , you knocked this out of the park! — 11 days ago

Perfection. The first time I had a Saarloos port I knew I’d found something specials. All eyes in the room met in a shared acknowledgement that this wine needed to be sipped and savored with deep enjoyment. Every year I’m back for more! This year’s Mercy continues in the same tradition and making a special night last longer with rich notes of plum. Not too sweet...just enough to warm the heart. — 21 days ago
