Nose: sweet roses and cherries. Intense and beautiful. So floral

Palate: sweet cherries. A bit right but so lovely and balanced. Juicy. Still young. Has a decade to go at least.

Needs an hour. Then magnificent. The 20% vespolina just takes this over the top.

Almost a 9.6. A perfect boca.

Sergio Zenato & wife Carla produced quality wines from indigenous varietal, Trebbiano di Lugana, and passed down through generations. Blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta & Croatina. Medium Ruby color with aromas of dried berry fruits, sweet & smoky notes with pleasant herb spice. On the palate flavors of ripe currants and blackberries with cacao, spice, oak & nutty tones. Fine tannins, long finish ending slightly creamy with cedar notes. Drinking well now, enjoy over next 4-5 years. — 3 months ago

The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Sergio Zenato blossoms in the glass with a decadent bouquet that blends crushed violet candies, spiced blood orange and dried blueberries. This is silky smooth, nearly creamy in feel, with a dense wave of ripe red berry fruits contrasted by a bitter tinge of dark, dark chocolate. Despite its size (17% alcohol), a core of zesty acidity maintains amazing energy and freshness as the 2017 finishes dramatically long and intense, leaving a staining of tart wild berry fruit to linger.
