Not sure how many people are aware of this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. If you are not I would highly recommend you check it out. Medium acids with earthy fruit and somehow very rich. I really enjoy this wine. — 5 years ago
The 2010 Auguste Favier Reserve is drop dead gorgeous with it’s fresh and bright ripe strawberry tones, giving way to zesty red florals, sweet smoke, white pepper and dusty cedar. It’s velvety on the palate, yet not weighty, instead poised and remarkably fresh, as red and blue fruits cascade across the senses over a core of brisk acids, leaving a mineral twang with savory spiciness. The finish is long and structured, with youthful tannins still holding something back for the years to come, yet still so alive and focused on purity of fruit. The 2010 is worth checking in on, but don’t forget to keep a stash in your cellar for at least the next five to ten years. Wow. — 6 years ago
Very tasteful, sweet spice to the nose. Heavy dark cherry and cinnamon spice taste. — 7 years ago
Good presentation. Not spectacular. — 3 years ago

Apropos for Halloween!!! A dark blood crimson color. Nose — fills the senses with blackberry-cassis fruit, classic Bordeaux aged perfume and earthy notes followed by a slight barnyard funk, chard cedar wood and toasted vanilla. Taste - red cherry plum and cedar with pepper spices, and a jammy graphite mineral dry long finish. A medium bodied wine with the tannins still present giving it more years to age and surprising new flavors that can develop. Happy Halloween 🎃 ! Luv the label!!! — 5 years ago
A year later getting the pleasure to open this wine again. The color is a deep inky purple garnet with some noticeable bricking. An expressive nose of chocolate, dark cherry and stewed meat. Scents of pencil lead, pine and rustic oak notes follow. What can I say! So exquisitely balanced and layered giving a an overall creamy feel to the palate. Taste is full of black cherry fruit, dark chocolate, cedar, minerals and charcoal. The finish is long lingering with robust plum. Absolutely delicious and a wonderful way to please the senses on this Friday night! — 5 years ago
Wow! Not sure if it was only the wine or the paring with our home made Dutch style savory macaroni (I know, sounds paradoxically) but the pairing blew our tops! This is why you drink wine. There is no such other experience to be had on this earth. Vibrant dry penetrating tannins in full harmony with dark fruit juice with under notes of tar and cedar took a hold of everyone of your senses. Kept you in a spell for minutes. Kept evolving. Ahh. Live can be great!! — 6 years ago
Pierre Boisson’s 2015 Meursault displays a seductive bouquet, which shows the ripeness of the vintage, yet perfectly balanced with the house style, as crushed oyster shell meets ripe tropical fruits, with notes of ginger, sage and white smoke. It cascades across the palate contrasting textural richness with saline-minerals and biting acidity as a note of ripe yellow apple fills the senses. The finish is long, gaining a savory edge, as hints of tropical fruit and exotic florals resonate throughout. — 6 years ago
Must stimulate the senses during covid. This and farmhouse Thai kitchen! And alder is always right. This can hold for years. — 6 years ago
The 2019 La Conseillante was stellar from the sample sent to "Martin Towers" in spring 2020, and the news is that there is no change in bottle. Allowed to open while gossiping away with winemaker Marielle Cazaux (you have to catch up when you are unable to see people regularly), the 2019 unveils an awesome, extraordinarily pure bouquet that seduces the senses, featuring dark cherries, blueberry, pressed violet and a touch of blood orange, all displaying wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied and cohesive, with fine-grained tannins and a judicious touch of black pepper toward the finish, which fans out gloriously while maintaining a sense of class. The best La Conseillante since the 2010? No - better. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2022)

Leave it to Bea to create a perfectly poised, structured and classic wine in such a warm vintage. The 2015 Pipparello Montefalco Rosso Riserva takes time to blossom in the glass, showing little more than dusty roses, hints of white smoke and cranberry at first. However, with coaxing, it grows in richness and volume, displaying crushed black cherry giving way to clove, lavender, sage, mint leaf and air-dried meats. All the while, there’s a fresh and feminine character, following through to the silky, almost creamy textures, which never feel weighty or cloying. Ripe red fruits and inner florals cascade across a core of spice and minerals as a layer of fine tannin begins to penetrate deeply, drying the senses and creating a sour twang. The palate aches under the Pipparello’s massive structure, and notes of tart citrus and concentrated wild berry fruit linger long. It’s going to take some time for the 2015 to mature into a more pleasurable expression, but it will be worth the wait. This is composed of 60% Sangiovese, 25% Montepulciano and 15% Sagrantino, all matured in large neutral barrels and released significantly later than most other producers' wines. Wonderful primitivo from Salento region. The nose is amazing and fills the senses with berries. Pared well with pasta and holds its own with a steak. 2013 vintage in February 2021. Very smooth with a taste of berries that lingers. — 5 years ago
The 2017 Pierre Boisson Blanc is wonderfully fresh, yet enriched by notes of hazelnut and dried peaches, as a mix of smoky minerals and floral tones add further depths. On the palate, an intense display of sizzling acids, minerals and citrus-tinged green apple cascade across the senses while tugging at the cheeks. The finish is medium in length and remarkably fresh, resonating of tart orchard fruits and mouth watering acidity. — 6 years ago
