Ruby in color with medium plus intensity and a wide reddish/ brick rim.

Red fruits on the nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, light oak, spices, chocolates, licorice, vinaigrette, earth, forest floor, soy sauce and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 11 year old Sangiovese is drinking nicely now. Elegant and nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Complex, entertaining and a good food wine.

100% Sangiovese. Deep ruby color. Quite noticeable aromas of bramble berries, black cherry, spice and vanilla. The very busy pallet features fresh and dried black cherry/berry, black licorice, blood, tobacco and herbs. A bit of spice on the very long finish. Quite savory, concentrated and medium/full bodied. Had the 2023 in January of 2025. First sip out of the glass was strange. Kind of sour fruit, butter and wood. Gave it time to breathe and swirled in the glass and then it was really good. Light fruits- dark cherry and blackberry. Hints of wood and leather in the finish. I always tend to jump right in. Have a decanter but don’t always head to it based on other people’s comments, I probably should have! But time in the glass was kind. Was a very interesting wine that I would love to have again. — 2 years ago
