Medium ruby , medium ruby garnet rim . Quite aromatic , cedar, red cherry , cut herbs , and a slight meaty , soy , balsamic touch . On the palate quite lean red fruits and some dark cherry , blackberry , cedar , liquorice with a herbal tinge . Gritty tannin , quite high acidity . Slightly short and lean on the finish . This is drinking at peak now , doesn’t have the structure or density to last so would recommend to drink over the next 3-5 years . — 2 months ago

There is amazing balance in these wines. A certain lightness despite 16.5 alcohol which is a testimony to the greatness of the producer. Takes time to open and would benefit from a further aging after 11 years. Great spices and black fruit, full bodied. — 17 days ago
Went over to L&J's house and he just happened to have almost the same chianti as we had last night. But this vintage was fruitier and brighter than the 21. Or at least, fruitier and brighter than what was left of the 21 from last night. — a month ago
2019 Took some time to open but good nose and ruby colour excellent structure in mouth with good balance of berry flavours acidity and tannins

Think it’s a little young?? Idk, very good. Think it could enrich in time. Coal, oak, smoky, but a little too red fruity on after taste. However after a glass that acidity is very nice. Maybe it just needed to open up. — 2 months ago

Had the 2023 in January of 2025. First sip out of the glass was strange. Kind of sour fruit, butter and wood. Gave it time to breathe and swirled in the glass and then it was really good. Light fruits- dark cherry and blackberry. Hints of wood and leather in the finish. I always tend to jump right in. Have a decanter but don’t always head to it based on other people’s comments, I probably should have! But time in the glass was kind.
