Mon dieu seigneur — 4 years ago

Vintage 2003 - Chasse Spleen from this hot year has developed in to a ‘Grand Seigneur’. A Noble wine with a classic complex smell: dark fruits, plums, a hint of ‘poop’ stable, cedar. Beautiful developed taste (à Point) with chocolate, good acidity. Besides this the wine still has a certain austerity, which I like. #chassespleen #moulis #bordeaux — 8 years ago
Powerful, juicy, roasted plums, preserved cherry, full body 🌹🔥🍒🍓🍇 — 9 years ago
Black olive, burnt bacon, rosemary and herbs. Bold, dense body but the alcohol seems to lift it up easily. Mandatory lamb or steak. — 8 months ago
Dark berry, peppered beef jerky, spice, earth, little iodine, nice acid. Yum! — 2 years ago
Still has a lot of life
Internet info,
Located in the Entre-deux-Mers region (in Saint-Loubès), the Château Reignac was built in the 16th century by Seigneur Baude de Peyron. Since 1990, it has been owned by Yves and Stéphanie Vatelot who elevated it, within a few years, to being one of the best domaines in Bordeaux with the help of the consultant oenologist Michel Rolland. The vineyard extends over 80ha in one piece; it is planted mostly with Merlot, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and, over 2 ha, Sauvignon and Sémillon. In a few years this domaine could impose its style and show the full potential of its appellation. It is now recognised as one of the jewels of the region, able to rival the renowned crus of Bordeaux.
About the cuvée
This grand vin is two-thirds Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Harvested from vines around 40 years old, it is aged in barrels for up to 19 months. — 4 years ago
Well balanced. Pronounced tannins give it backbone and blackberry fruit gives it great flavor. Should improve with age. — 8 years ago
Age made this wine great for $18 - would let it age another 4-5 years — 9 years ago

2018 vintage. For his fun "Goutte du Seigneur" label Bernard Duseigneur buys organic grapes (his own vineyards are biodynamically farmed). This is a Grenache - Syrah blend and it's absolutely delicious even if a bit more bottle age is recommended. Smells like freshly crushed black cherries and flowers. Gorgeous bright cherries, fresh acidity and a nice ripe tannic bite. Very serious wine for the price. — 6 years ago
