More expressive and dialed up compared to the Beaucastel (not a big surprise). Medium gold in the glass. Bright and juicy roussanne notes of orange marmalade and apricot, alongside white peaches and a powder-sugar funnel-cake type aromatic. The Chenin gives this a good spine of acidity to prevent the rich and full-bodied entry from being flabby. Honey-roasted nuts, honeycomb, lemon cream, underripe pineapple and a savory/waxy finish. The warmth comes out at the finish, but it’s not substantial. Really nice with 1-2hrs of air. — 4 days ago
Mo had this at 94, I had it at 92. For me, it was nice, but bone dry, and lacked density and that sweet finish I like from Cali wines. This concluded somewhat bitter for me. Standout pizza at Bivio, Montclair. — 5 months ago
2019. Selected this for our friends that were having the lamb ragu and waygu steak entrees and it was really great, especially for the price! — 5 months ago
Exceptional blend. Mostly Syrah but the Grenache shines. Bold red with great depth. Lovely floral nose of violets and berries. Big winner tonight. — 6 months ago
