Santa Alba

Sara Vezza

Superiore Villaro Barbera d'Alba 2018

N: Big purple fruit, loamy, moist earth, charcoal, deep as if something is lurking there.
P: like a plush, bright, ball of northern Italy, fills your mouth. No tannins to speak of, a wee bit of grip on the finish. Very earth bound.w a ragú, terrific.
Terrific qpr.

Priavino Dolcetto d'Alba 2016

Perfumed nose of rose petals and fresh cranberries. A bit rounder than most Dolcetto wines with red fruit offset by typical dusty notes. Slightly tannic and herbaceous on the finish (but in a good way). About as good as Dolcetto gets. — 8 days ago

Medium ruby red in appearance. A bit savory on the nose with berries, spices, cocoa and a hint of earthiness. Well balanced palate with a medium body and medium tannins (5.5/10). Fresh red berries on the palate with some darker spices and bramble berries. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2029. — 2 days ago

Had a memorable experience in Milan where it was used to decorate the restaurant. A guy was mansplaining to his GF in Italian, but we could tell she hated it. Then came back to NYC and found it was easily available at eataly — 5 days ago

Deep rose color. A bit Sweet flower. Later on, makes me feel spiciness and sourness. 2018 @1000, medoc -, 220613-220621 — 10 days ago

Colluvial Wine

F.R.F Tinaquaic Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2016

Deep ruby/purple color. Aromas of tomato leaf, blue and black berry, tobacco with a touch of green bell pepper. Pallet is rich and full of dark fruit, cocoa, wood, roasted poblano pepper and a touch of vanilla. A bit of tobacco, minerals and earth on the very long finish. Extremely complex and multi dimensional wine. Thank you so much, Kasey! — 6 days ago
