So fresh! So good! A cherry but the most important: strong leather and smoke. With mild finish and acidity. — 20 days ago
Saturday afternoon and the wine I have chosen is the 2016 Château La Pointe. A right bank Bordeaux from Pomerol that is a blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, raspberry, ripe plum, black currant, cocoa, sweet tobacco, cola syrup and gravel.
On the palate there is black cherry, raspberry, plum, bell pepper, black currant, white pepper and gravel.
This is a full bodied wine with a velvety mouthfeel, medium + acidity and fine sandy tannins that moves very well to a long dark fruit gavel finish. A wonderful wine for a winderful weekend. I hope everyone is still well, healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 7 days ago
Authentic but undefined aroma, lacks clarity at the top range, and needs more balsamic and minty nuances to balance the smoky and earthy leather tar licorice aromas to complete the range, the sandy tannins with concentrated fruit on top of it. Old-school but there is a hint of oak in the texture, reminiscent of some La Morra. — 11 days ago
Fabulous! Deep berry (low tannin), very flavorful. Definite repeat — 7 days ago
Mmmmm. Sleek, charming, and complex - I need to drink more Austrian Riesling on this level. A very precise medium-bodied stunner with generous fruit cradled in remarkable acidity.
More info: Burgstall is a windy plateau with sandy gneiss and granite soils. 84 cases imported to U.S. $35 — 7 days ago
35 year old Sankt Laurent, sandy loam soils, grown biodynamically. Whole cluster maceration, spontaneous fermentation, 9 months of aging in concrete egg. Unfined, unfiltered, low sulfur. The nose is fresh and expressive, of what I can make out: stone fruit, citrus and salty. As for the profile: tart strawberry, kombucha, blood orange(!!), salty finish. Bottle says 10.5% but I don’t believe it. Tastes like straight juice. — 7 days ago
On this Sunday night I have opened the 2013 Elk Cove Willamette Valley Pinot Gris.
On the nose you will get meyer lemon, white peach, cantaloupe, honey, ginger, spice, musk and minerality.
On the palate there is meyer lemon, white peach, ripe tangerine, anise, honey and crushed gravel.
This wine is medium bodied with a viscous mouthfeel and medium +acidity that has a long citrus minerality finish. Lets all look forward to the new year with renewed excitement and hope that this new year will be of hope and renewal. Please stay healthy and safe. Happy New Year to everyone. Nice Wednesday keto bottle, with some pesto topped barramundi
This Champagne is composed of juice from all old vine Grand Cru grapes on property that used to belong to Krug right in the Cotes de Blanc… so you know they’re working with great land and great fruit. The nose is earthy, almost a little sandy toned, but there’s also good fresh fruit here with scents of citrus peel and Golden Delicious apples. The mouthfeel is soft and supple with a great apple/pear balance that becomes more intense in fruitiness and even borders on tropical flavors before coming to a gradual vanilla finish. — 17 days ago
