Popped for Zoom tasting with Morgan Peterson and his father, Joel Peterson. Very stylish well-mannered mature field blend. Wine was lighter than expected both in the glass and on the palate. Silky smooth and light textured, with plenty of ripe red fruit and enough acidity to effortlessly dance the wine across the tongue. Long, textured finish. The wine is fully evolved and drinking well now. Don’t see any reason to wait. Initially, upon opening, I thought this was too extracted and scorchy, but after just a bit of air that sensation receded and the wine softened and developed. Nose is classic Zin black raspberry fruit, and nice briary, soft herbal note, and some moist gravel, river stones notes in the background. Ripe, but not too ripe, and extracted, but not too extracted, in the mouth. Has a dry, full-bodied feel, with a bit a peppery heat and some scratchy tannin in the finish. Seems like fewer and fewer Zin producers are interested in anything other than a loud wine, but at least this isn’t too loud. — 5 years ago

Young and fresh but showing many of the Dolinsek’s traditional traits: a big nose of blue and black fruits followed by a fruit forward wine of the same. It’s got bright acidity and firm tannins with a hint of black olive and pepper deeper in the wine. Drinking well now with loads of potential. — a month ago
