Deep Ruby, complex, yet delicate with aromas of dark fruits, spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plum and cherry with smoky oak, pepper and cacao wrapped in generous acidity. Fine sweet tannins, long finish, great structure ending with fruit, cedar, spice and slight earthy tones. Nice! — 11 days ago
Thin and uninteresting at first , but after just half an hour of decanting this wine blossoms into something quite interesting. Another 30 minutes in the decanter brings very nice Russian River fruity and flowery aromas and flavors—strawberry and earth, gentle tannins and balanced acidity. Quite an improvement from the last bottle I tried four years ago. Enjoyed the 2014 vintage with USDA Prime New York steak. — 16 hours ago
The wife and I did a fun Syrah blind tasting with the coravin. We ranked the wines exactly the same. I feel like a Modus Operandi fanboy, but their wines really do perform well in these blind tastings. #1 Modus Operandi 2018 Caldwell Vineyard Syrah #2 Dumol 2016 Wild Mountainside Russian River Valley Syrah # 3 Kimsey 2017 Syrah. The MO and DuMol were much better than the Kimsey. I was really disappointed in the Kimsey. It just wasn’t there. Since DuMol is tagged here, the nose had dark fruits and a bit of funk. Flavors were nice, and the finish lingered a bit, but not as long as I would have liked. Score is for the DuMol. — 10 days ago
What a great example of Idaho wine. Definitely proves you don't have to be in California to make a great cab! — 5 days ago
Superbe Pinot de CA au style Bourguignon, belle surprise en suivant tous ces beaux Bourgognes, du fruit à revendre, ne faisait pas son age.
Very nice Pinot from CA, has a Burgundy feel and texture to it, lots of fruit, well balanced, not even showing his age, very classy. 91-92 — 2 days ago

👃 Ripe plum, moist prune, damp mahogany shavings, wet leather, dried blackberries, pencil lead, cherry syrup | 👅 Dark chocolate covered blackberries, plum skin, cocoa powder, dehydrated Bing cherries.
Cork pulled, double decant, 10H rest at time of notes.
Paired to a slow & low baked beef tenderloin with roasted root vegetables, several hours of low temperature patience required for a reward of a beautiful beef (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY) roast at ~135°F. — 9 days ago
