On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, cranberry, red flowers, orange zest, some tar, talcum powder, dried herbs and dry, organic earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is about as sapid of a young Classico I’ve had from Produttori. It’s a bold wine right now but some time on its side will bring more into balance. Drink now with some patience through 2051. — 2 days ago

On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, cranberry, freeze dried strawberry, ground cumin, tar, talcum powder, old cedar chest, some varnish and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and loaded with savory minerals. Still very much in its youth, this was a lovely solar expression of Pajé. Drink now with patience through 2047. Bottle No. 2045/6666

Look, I work in agriculture, a farming, family, but damn farmer wine is good. I have not had any farmer or co-op wine in a long time that just meets the threshold of wow for this one. I mean just the color is beautiful clear Ruby and Claret with no obscuring whatsoever. This is not something we’re gonna be like oh a dissect the flavors for 30 minutes. It is good, solid amazing wine with clarity of color, absolute focus of flavor in beautiful concentration of the grape and the expression of the land and the spices, and a perfect balance of the acidity structure they’re in. Upon opening, the tannins were overbearing, but after a two hour decant it opened up and softened nicely, with cherry, anise, earth, violets, and roses coming through on the nose. On the palate, the anise and floral flavors shine bright, and the finish is exquisite, with the floral notes providing a vivid, persistent finish with underlying notes of spice and earth. The wine has a smooth mouthfeel, with tannins providing astringency on the finish. Such a beautiful, elegant barbaresco that paired wonderfully with tagliatelle bolognese. — 6 months ago
