A very casual Sauvignon Blanc from the very upper and eastern side of the Loire River in France. A more flinty and brighter acidity to its neighbor Sancerre (across the river to the west).

Pale lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and flinty floral earthy notes this morning, vineyards held by Lafond and Ladoucette families since 1787, purchased from daughter of Louis XV. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and garden spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with citrus and mineral spice. Nice! — 3 months ago

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing limes, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, light earth, minerals and black pepper.

Spicy finish with bitter almonds.

This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc From the Loire Valley in France. Rich and elegant. Much more buttery than I expected it to be.

Still young and needs at least 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. I had the 2014 not too long ago, and it was even better.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Good by itself or with food.

All of the grapes from the vineyards owned by the Latour family are vinified and aged in the cuverie of Château Corton Grancey in Aloxe-Corton. The winery was the first purpose-built cuverie in France and remains the oldest still-functioning. Medium pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits with a slight nutty floral character. On the palate flavors of peach and melon with lemon citrus and savory notes. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, toasty oak and minerality. Nice! — 3 months ago
