Fantastic champagne - dry, light and flavorful! Helps to drink overlooking the Duomo — 4 years ago
Chocolate ganache nose sows lime zest and cedar, vanilla panna cotta, lemon tart, hazelnut, absinthe film, and orange rind across a semi-hot surface that resembles an exotic, forgotten cocktail; tea biscuit, lavender and creme caramel. An olfactory feast that endlessly inspires. Soft and warm palate with herbaceous thyme, chive, cilantro, basil afloat on vanilla-caramel, lemongrass, tea tree oil, bay, lemon zest, lime pith, and candied lemon. Cappuccino and bakers chocolate, spun sugar, dark brown sugar, apple blossom honey, treacle, baklava, pine nut, pecan, and coffee cookie. Most interesting is the layers of cascading flavors maintain their original impact while generously allowing the next to shine seamlessly. I have had this many times sans analysis, without fully appreciating its impeccable composition. A triumph! .

This is the best Cognac I have ever had. The end of a great bottle. Only 198 bottles made. Started with the 1922 vintage and topped up annually until August of 2013. Then bottled unfiltered. Rich, unctuous. Caramel, orange peel. Amazing depth and a several minute finish. Just incredible. — 6 years ago

The Tesseron family (currently the proprietors of St.-Estèphe’s Lafon-Rochet and Pauillac’s Pontet-Canet) made its fortune in the Cognac business, and it is one of the few families to possess ancient stocks of great vintages that have not been diluted with water or manipulated in any manner. They released small quantities of Lot 29 (1929), which remains the most ethereal Cognac I have ever tasted. I’m no expert, but their newest release, the 1953, seems close in quality to the 1929. Slightly darker than the 1929, the 1953 is pure silk, which at this alcohol level is very dangerous indeed. The complex aromatics can fill a room.

Blended smoothieHad this in a Sazerac; smooth, maple syrup on the nose, made the Sazerac smoother than the rye whiskey version. — 7 years ago
Oh, snap! This is an exquisite example of GM. A lovely sipper after our meal. Rich yet so well balanced. The orange is perfectly integrated. — 9 years ago

Fascinating wine. So much going on. Super vinous, even cidery. Gold in the glass, a little oxidative, looong finish. Some subtle green flavors, a leafy wild herbal thing. Deep, tooth tingling acid, but mature, white balsamic-type acid. Yeasty but long-fermented sourdough type yeasty. Madeleines and lemon marmelade. Enjoy this with rich food, like roast game bird. Or Cheetos. We paired it with Cheetos. Deg sept 2019. — 6 years ago

Merry Christmas 2025! 🎅🎄🎁🍾 ❄️ ⛄️
Nice mousse w/ pleasant, lively acidity. Blood orange citrus blend-orange with peel, lime, lemon, hints fresh of rhubarb, bruised, soft, strawberries, white spice, dry limestone, seabed, light yeasty notes, baguette crust, sun tea notes, wet stone, nice acidity, well balanced, good tension-structured, elegant finish that last a full-minute and lands on volcanics & spice. — 6 months ago
