Pinot noir from Waipara (north Canterbury) is the most underrated in New Zealand, easily up there with the best in central Otago. In fact I would go as far to say wines from this region are the most under rated in New Zealand. Pegasus Bay lead the way over 20 years ago. Caveat is that if you are comparing central Otago with waipara, the Pinot noir is softer, but still with a complex structure but more more hidden. Duck is perfect. For afternoon drinking also superb. — 2 years ago
Vintage 2018 | Ooooph, this is an impressive wine: extremely expressive smell with spices and flint, well balanced taste with good concentration. The sommelier told that the wine comes from grapes harvested late from high vineyards. | Paired with langoustine and chanterelles | at restaurant Alma in Oisterwijk — 4 years ago

Delicious- dry crisp and interesting — 8 months ago
Deep ruby. Dark sweet plum, salty and floral. The palate is med-full bodied, med acidity, soft-med tannin. There is a dark savoury element that gives the wine gravitas. Beautiful balance. Power without weight. Powerful and beautiful. — 2 years ago

I love this type of sweet wine. It’s got a good acidity so it balances up the sweetness. — 25 days ago
