Still one of my favorite Etna wines. At least the third bottle that I have had. Fresh red cherries and tart strawberry but with smoke and earthiness. Just delicious to drink. Just brought home all of the single vineyard Contrada. Going to let them rest for some time. — 5 years ago

Always one of my favorite Nerello. — a year ago
Big Nerello with tannic structure. Red fruit with smoke and earth. Delicious. — 5 years ago
Deep translucent ruby. Salty, smoky nose with strong iron/blood notes. Medium bodied with very nice grip. Pure red fruit. Good length. Clean and fresh and juicy. Balanced. Not as good as Etna pt 1 but still, love this style — 7 years ago
Delicious bold christmas wine — 10 years ago
These wines are all amazing. The S was a little lighter then some of the other Contradas. — 3 years ago
Nose of black cherry and pine straw. On the palate the flavors are the same, with great depth, structure, and length. This has a gravity that goes beyond most any Etna Rosso I’ve tasted. Phenomenal, and has years if not decades ahead of it... — 9 years ago
Wishing I were on Etna right now while Passopisciaro's Nerello Mascalese grapes are coming in from Contrada Porcaria. Meanwhile I'll be enjoying the 2012 Passopisciaro Rosso, drinking great with its fresh, ripe red fruits and peppery, mineral-driven finish. — 11 years ago

My favorite Nerellos: Contrada from Passopiscario. This is is a heavier Nerello with red and black fruit. Smokey, earthy, burnt earth, med tannins, good acidity. — 6 months ago
