Big Nerello with tannic structure. Red fruit with smoke and earth. Delicious. — 3 years ago
Deep translucent ruby. Salty, smoky nose with strong iron/blood notes. Medium bodied with very nice grip. Pure red fruit. Good length. Clean and fresh and juicy. Balanced. Not as good as Etna pt 1 but still, love this style — 5 years ago
This is a powerhouse Nerello. Tannic, dark, red fruit but primarily darker fruit. Good acidity, smoky and complex. This is built for long aging. Delicious! — 2 months ago
These wines are all amazing. The S was a little lighter then some of the other Contradas. — 2 years ago
Still one of my favorite Etna wines. At least the third bottle that I have had. Fresh red cherries and tart strawberry but with smoke and earthiness. Just delicious to drink. Just brought home all of the single vineyard Contrada. Going to let them rest for some time. — 4 years ago
!00% Nerello Mascalese, Single Contrada from a favorite Sicilian Producer. This isn’t the typical lighter, easy drinking Nerello. This has body, weight and complexity. Darker fruit: black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, smoke, with tannins and acidity. Definitely capable of aging but I have a hard time time not drinking them! — 9 months ago
Excellent Sicilian wine. A bit expensive and not quite the style I enjoy but still excellent, fairly light wine with good acid. — 6 years ago

Would never guess this in a blind tasting. Apparently he’s trying to create “the Burgundy of Sicily”. I see the connection but much drier and tannic than a Burgundy pinot. But still nice fruit character. Got better with air. — 25 days ago
