Wild Meadow Vineyard Chardonnay 2016

Well, the 2016 has turned the page / it seems to be paradigm shift from the previous vintages (tighter, restrained, minimal oak). The ‘16 is quite voluminous with warm caramel brioche and baked lemon liquor. While golden and opulent, this is not a gentle and elegant food wine. Thus I am on the fence whether I want another bottle… I probably will get one because it’s still available and look for a better food pair. Day two, allowed for some beautiful sipping, though ;) edit: I will get another bottle…very nice sipper on day 2…mouthfeel is glorious! — a year ago

The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek

loudoun County Chardonnay

Very Chablis in effect...only 20% saw time in neutral oak. Lemon pith and rind oil sing lead with fresh minerality woven into the vibrant acidic structure. Pleasant, sophisticated mouthfeel from the lees...very functional with baked/broiled delicate white fish. Ripe fruit from a great harvest certainly make this paradigm possible ;) — 2 years ago

Oakville Merlot 2016

I don’t care what Paul giamatti says. A good merlot is a dream in a glass. Let it open up — 19 days ago

Tempus Vivendi Rías Baixas Albariño 2018

“This isn’t merely a good Albarino it’s a paradigm shifting wine the truly brings out the best of its grape and place. Put it next to the great mineral whites of Chablis or the Loire and it doesn’t miss a beat.” - SommSelect — 2 years ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

On the nose I get rich lush stewed dark fruits. It also has hints of vanilla and oak. On the palate the wine envelopes the tongue with grippy tannins on the sides and we’ll balanced acid on the tongue. The flavors of deep red and blue stewed fruits meld together without making this wine overly sweet.
Very easy drinking.
