Very good blend of Italian whites. We will drink again. — 3 years ago
Dark garnet with a jammy nose of dark plum and some oak and/or some light leather. Smooth in the mouth with medium tannins & acidity. Also a hint of fruit forwardness or more red fruit like plum and red berry. A very nice blend! Again thanks James- — 3 years ago
The Masseto Ornellaia is an exceptional expression of a Merlot, offering a beautifully balanced blend of power and elegance. On the nose, there’s an inviting oak aroma that seamlessly mingles with ripe, dark fruit—think blackberries and plums—with subtle hints of licorice and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with layers of dark fruit flavors unfolding effortlessly, underpinned by a velvety texture. The oak is well-integrated, adding depth without overwhelming the fruit. Its tannins are smooth but structured, leading to a long, lingering finish. Overall, it’s a complex, luxurious wine that evolves beautifully in the glass. — 2 months ago
A splurge treat. It didn’t surpass Ornellaia as my all time favourite, but definitely further established Bolgheri as my favourite wine region. A beautiful, elegant and balanced wine. Smooth and delicious. — 3 years ago
An amazing wine with incredible complexity. Black currants, black plums, dark chocolate, earth, sawdust, cigar smoke, etc. It just keeps going on and on! Better than the 2001 Ornellaia I had earlier. It can be enjoyed for many years to come. — 2 years ago
