Medium Ruby with rich sweet red fruit aromas and herb spice notes on on this beauty from Steve Kistler. On the palate a rich full flavor of blackberry and cherry with cinnamon spice, oak and fine tannins. Crisp acidity, good balance, long ending with slight earthy character. Very Nice! This was really something. From vines planted by Steve Kistler 30 years ago in northern Sonoma coast and near some other heavy hitting sites. Manages the neat trick of intensity without heaviness. Redolent of small berries and ocean breeze, bursting with black cherry, strawberry and rhubarb, dried flowers and spice with a whole cluster herbal quality. Was a little afraid I’d jumped the gun but nah this is ready — 6 years ago
