W. Still fruit forward with really nice balanced tannins and oak — 2 years ago
Deep ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.
Showing black fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, violets, herbs and peppercorn.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
This is a delicious Syrah from Walla Walla Valley in Washington State. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Spicy and rich.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime, when tannins show up. Gets earthier as it opens up with bitter vegetables and tar.
Even smoother after 2 hours of airtime. I did not decant it and left it in the bottle to open up.
Robert Parker 95 points.
Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.
Fruit forward with good structure, and a beautiful aromatic nose.
I paired it with a delicious burger.

We had the 2017 Vintage on 3/1-2-24. Medium Garnett in color. Black cherry and cinnamon on the bouquet. Black cherry, black raspberry and cardamom on the palate. Some oak and earth as well. Medium bodied. Unmistakable California Pinot Noir. Very good. — 3 months ago
Deliciously old-school Cal Chardonnay in the best way. Brings back memories of the 1980s. Toasty buttery barrel fermentation notes, ripe orchard fruit, earthy lemon oil on the nose. More restrained on the palate, with oak, stony minerals, and fruit in equal measure. Bone dry. Good acids. Reminds me of a Pouilly-Fuisse that’s on the oakier end of the spectrum. Nicely done. — 9 months ago
Beautiful Willamette Pinot noir classy bright fruit beautiful aroma, touch of oak — 2 years ago
Color of purple, a bit bubbly, with slightly gray and blue hue on the rim. Nose is nice, with plum, aldehyde, oak, some blackberries, and oily. Taste follows the nose, slightly sweet with dark fruits, soft tannins, more oak note, a bit vanilla, some ripe grapes, and hint of zest. Quite smooth and tasty. Aftertaste is clean with more oaky and sweet note, milky and a bit peppery. Packed with good flavors. — 3 years ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nice nose of cedar, licorice, cola, Indian spices, chocolates and tobacco.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, eucalyptus, light vegetables and herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 4 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Yountville is already delicious. Fruit forward and elegant. Soft and smooth.
Showing nice complexity. Still young but already enjoyable even by itself.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour in the decanter. A good quality wine.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. This Single Vineyard has good potential to become a 94 +point wine.
A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

Jarvis has always been such a unique producer with its incredible underground facility and fascinating lineup of wines. Their Finch Hollow Chardonnays (this one and the Unfiltered version) are outrageously expensive, but they sure know how to deliver on flavor profile.
My notes here are actually quite similar to the 2015 I opened last year, but everything is a touch more restrained. Normally quite rich with expensive oak usage, this seems nicely balanced…it’s almost fresh in profile. Sweet lemon cream alongside marzipan and sea breeze aromatically. From a phenolic standpoint, it’s close to some of the Aubert offerings with its powerful texture. Finishes with a surprising amount of honeysuckle, caramel dipped apple, and honeycrisp. This seems to be built for a bit longer aging compared to the 2015. I’ll be curious to see how the 2018 is. — 2 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Medium lemon with aromas of nice ripe stone and tropical fruits with floral spice notes. Sourced from 40+ year-old vines, on the palate flavors of apple, peach and pineapple fruit flavors with a nice dollop of citrus and toasty oak. Well balanced, fresh long finish ending with creamy mineral character. Nice value. — a month ago
