Uber concentrated fruit, blackcherry , plum, new oak, jalapeño and mint. For as young as this giant is it was still utterly amazing with a long decant..paired perfect with our wagyu brisket...will be for sure brilliant in years to come.. — 4 years ago
Our mushroom truffle sauce tonight’s pairs with this Pinot noir well 🌈
Strawberry raspberry black fruit is match-and-found deliberately by the creamy sauce 🍛, complement and integrated into a beautiful dinner

Just rock-solid Châteauneuf, this is exemplary and for me personally my exact sweet-spot in terms of the varied styles from this region. The nose takes a little coaxing, but has a great yin / yang profile of pure, fresh blue fruit, liquorice, violets, and garrigue, versus seared meat, iron and loamy earth. This all puts it square in the middle of the ‘old’ and ‘new’ schools, broadly speaking, and it’s a wine that has the best of both worlds as a result.
The palate is huge, an iron fist in a glove of velvet and so much more, but in no way imbalanced or over-extracted - not overtly alcoholic, at a modest 14%. It spreads out in waves across the palate, ripples which are felt long after the finish. This is clearly a baby now, but it drinks well and will see its 20th birthday in damn fine fettle. Excited to have a case in the cellar.

2016 vintage. Really light nose of mint and dust. Medium heavy body. Full of Tootsie Roll, ripe plum and dark cherry flavor traits. Really nice QPR/Bang for the buck. Super-approachable and forward now but it’ll rock steady until you’re ready to tackle those cellared wines you’re eschewing from the new millennium. Would make a great event/party wine where varied (non) palates are in play. — 3 years ago
Amazing candy nose, strawberry, red fruit, nice!!! — 3 years ago
Absolutely stunning. Quite the contrast to the Colombiere, as this is much more serious and structured and the Aux Cras terroir shines through. New oak is more prevalent, of course, but it’s so integrated already and doesn’t get in the way. The nose is incredibly intense and aromas of dark fruit, sweet spice and a wet rock minerality waft from the glass. While this wine is let’s say, more masculine and less sexy than the Colombiere, there is still a seductive Vosne-like perfume that’s so undeniably CLB and lures you in. The palate is powerful and is full of energy, while at the same time remaining focused and seamlessly delineated. To no surprise length is superior to the Colombiere. Totally irresistible now, but boy this will be a knockout down the road. — 3 years ago

Label nails it. First hit on the nose is mineral earth, lava rock. That fades into flint, graphite, which then fades into subtle lavender and deep fruit. Bright strawberry lights up the tongue, punctuated by a soft tannic finish. Absolutely beautiful wine. — 9 months ago
