This has remained steadfast since purchase. I advised @Dawn E. back in 2021 to consume her 18’s, but in this case, I was wide of the mark. Very impressive and enjoyable. Flamboyant nose of cassis, with a bold tannic structure on the mid palate. Finishes long and racy. No signs of aging and zero rush to consume. — 6 months ago
Head to head. Mike Smith and Thomas Rivers Brown. Both are fantastic wines, but for me the Maybach is more my style. It is darker and fuller bodied than the Myriad. Color is a dark ruby/purple. Nose of cassis, blackberries, violet, lavender, and a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors pumping through the long finish. It has all of the power of a full-bodied cab., with a lingering ride akin to a pinot. Amazing wine. One of the best if not the best I have ever had. I will be making this a regular splurge in my cellar. — 3 years ago
Medium ruby (see through) color with periwinkle highlights. Dense aromas of a myriad of spices and red and black berry fruit. Ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit on the palate with additional notes of cinnamon and clove. Long and lasting oaky finish. Full bodied and smooth texture. Silky tannins. Nicely balanced, rich and well crafted. Perfectly aged. Thanks for sharing this one with me, Chris B! — 6 months ago
The last time I had this was at The French Laundry trying to convince someone to support a nonprofit I love. The subsequent gift was generous but, somehow, underwhelming. This wine is like that. A great vintage, a great vineyard, in great hands, but it had so much more potential. I’m not whining about a 97-point wine; I’m lucky to enjoy it. But it could’ve been even more. — 10 months ago
Decided to try this tonight with a filet. Has been awhile since I last tasted this wine. Aging beautifully. Great body. Depth of fruit. Just a beautiful California cab from a great vintage. — 6 months ago
Pale yellow color. Aromas of pineapple, guava, grapefruit, white flowers and fresh herbs. A myriad of tropical fruit flavors with additional notes of peach, lemon curd and pepper spice. Nice saline/mineral touch on the long and crunchy finish. Mouth watering acidity, bright and fresh. Thanks for the taste, Chris B! Revisited in August 2025. Even better this time. Taking rating up! — 7 months ago
