Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Mike Smith does it again. The 2013 is a solid vintage, but let this baby breathe to fully appreciate it. A couple hour decant and the flavors even out so that it’s not so dense and strong. Prime for drinking now or in the next year or so. A solid wine from an award winning wine maker. — 2 years ago

Still young. Balanced dark fruit. Dark purple to the edge. Great, and plenty of life ahead. — a month ago

True Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Very drinkable early, just not as distinctive as the 16 Myriad Elysian & Empyrean and Rivers Marie Lore & Herb Lamb. — 25 days ago

“EMPYREAN’ Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

I thought the 15 was marvelous, the 16 is nearly a pop and pour so very nice. Everything is so well put together, acid, tannins and fruit. Nice 👍 — a month ago

Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

I have an affinity to Mike Smith wines. Let this baby breathe for a couple hours and it opens up well. Prime for drinking now — bold, dense fruit flavor that you’d come to expect from a Napa cab powerhouse wine maker. Full body and long peppery finish. Still a winner in my book. — 7 days ago

McGah Family Vineyard Sémillon 2018

9.1

Anne-Marie rated this 92, I gave it 90, so we split the difference. Notes of guava and white melon on the nose. Delicate notes of passion fruit and honeysuckle on the palate. Inoffensive, but lacks a little character and complexity. Having said that, it doesn’t cost a king’s ransom, so, net net, it’s a buy. We purchased this on allocation, so, very pleased with the outcome

Thanks guys and gals. I love making this dish, as it has such a visual appeal. Although the sauce is the most difficult element. But I crushed that, too. There’s no way my wife is divorcing me anytime soon! 🙂

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

I challenge you to find a better cab at this price point, I know I haven’t. One hour decant and it was ready to go. Think I prefer the ‘16 to the ‘15 at the moment. — 18 days ago

Well Micheal David if you’re out of inexpensive wine & heading to a non wino crowd party, crowd pleaser the Earthquake Cab or Zin,
