Decant and pour. They broke out the Giant glass.....black cherry, leather, tobacco, pepper, dried herbs, cedar, and tannic. Should round out over time. YUM! Super Tuscan tonight to start our Napa weekend...who woulda thunk. — a day ago

Vietti

Tre Vigne Barbera d'Asti 2021

Medium Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits, floral and sweet spice. On the palate this medium body wine shows flavors of juicy blueberry and blackberry with notes of herbs and vanilla spice. Dusty tannin structure, lively acidity, medium ending with crisp fruit finish. Nice value. Drink now, consistent, no aging benefit. — 8 days ago

Emidio Pepe

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2015

There’s a purity and elegance to this wine that kept me going back. Everything’s light - bright red berry, sweet tannins and subtle Mediterranean tang - but the whole has weight and … well, gravitas, with a lengthy finish. Outstanding for me. Great food wine. — 13 days ago

Allegrini

Palazzo della Torre Veronese Corvina Blend 2018

I bought and drank a fair amount of Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre back in the late 1990s, and always enjoyed them. First time in the past 20 years, this seems a little softer and polished, a little lower ABV (13.5 vs. 14+ in earlier vintages), this is vinified using conventional fermentation as well as some ripasso fermentation (think Amarone drying grapes on straw mats), and has some very nice complexity and length, very nice!! — 9 days ago

Gaja

Ca'Marcanda Promis Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2020

Wine is full bodied, purplish. On nose its violets, black cherries, cheedar, earthy. On palate, its sweet, little spicy, i can taste the brightness from sangiovese buts its more vegal to me. The structure, merlot balanced the syrah so it does mellowed the syrah attack. Long finish, tannic, give it 1 hour decant. Best after 2028.. cheers! 🍷 — 18 hours ago

Sella & Mosca

Riserva Cannonau di Sardegna 2020

On the nose, there is sweet cherry to be sure... Cherry brandy... A mossy, earthy note... Savory mushroom... Yup, we're in the woods... But warm... On the palate, some more green emerges perhaps... Still extremely savory though... Buttery pastry... Cherry is incredibly concentrated... Tannin is fluffy... Medium-short finish... Reading the label, I thought this would pair well with our strong-flavored barbeque, but it paired best with our beef and barley soup appetizer... I think if you could pair with something that includes filo pastry, it would do even better... — 12 days ago
