Mugneret Gouachon

Vieille Vigne Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1990

Oh what a beauty. Not a big fan of the producer but this was in a perfect place. Superbly balanced acidity, great fruit and tertiary expression and a very long finish. — 15 days ago

Les Feusselottes Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

What a beautiful and assertive Chambolle. Captivating, aromatic and seductive nose. Expressive black and blue fruit, newly bloomed violets, minerals and hints of baking spices. Wonderfully balanced acidity to complement its gorgeous purity. Finishes with great length, lift and intensity. — a month ago

Les Chaignots Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Lights out bottle from MG, one of my top 3 favorite producers. To no surprise 2002 is so open and giving and its aromatics could seduce you across the room. It’s very Vosne Romanée like as it shows a beautiful spice character and superior combination of power and elegance. There’s red currants, roasted herbs, sous bois and lovely integrated toasty oak. Finishes with fantastic length, depth and soft tannins. A stunner, and Chef Thomas Keller approved 😇 — 8 days ago

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2017

Intense and muscular, nothing subtle about 2017. Very good depth for village and it continues to gain complexity and show some layers as it unfurls. Lots of tension and finesse showing black raspberries, pomegranate, crushed minerals and hints of topsoil. Finishes with very good length and lift. When you talk about village red wines that set themselves apart you think Fourrier’s Gevrey, Mugneret Gibourg’s VR (of course CLB too), and then there is Roumier’s Chambolle. Great now and even better later ❤️ — 10 days ago

Vieille Vigne Fixin Pinot Noir 2017

Good wine but couldn’t get my finger on it. It tasted very young and was too “present”. I hope further cellaring will bring more elegance. — a month ago

So pretty. Violets, cherry, strawberry, mushroom, spice, crushed rocks, wet leaves and great acid. Had with pork shank. Yum. — a month ago

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir

Wonderful aromas of ripe red currant, red plum and cooked strawberries. With secondary aromas of oak, cedar, toast and a delicate perfume of pipe tobacco. It was smooth and solid on the palate. Definitely a fuller bodied expression of the village. #vosneromanée #burgundy #france — 2 months ago
