Trying this again. Has classy 60’s vibes in the label design. Smells nice. Red berry and orange peel. Yeah still love the flavors. Fleshy with blood orange, cherry and woodsy stuff. Balance and fresh. Lovely complexity for a lighter color and bit less brooding type of Frenchie. — 3 years ago
100% Gamnay sourced from their vineyard situated on the steep slopes of Mount Brouilly facing South-West. This entire area was a former volcano dating back to the Primary era.
The wine shows an extremely deep purple color. The nose shows some ripeness on red fruits, pleasant spices and nuances of blackcurrant and blueberry. On the mouth, has a lot of influence of black fruits with some integrated silky tannins.
Bold, dry and intense wine with a textured, yet elegant finish. — 4 days ago
In 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin founded winery. In 1889, Mommessin acquired La Grange Saint-Pierre, ancient buildings in Macon, originally belonged to Abbey of Cluny. Its key, the Key of St. Peter, became famous house emblem. Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruit with notes of oak and floral. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with oak, floral, spice and earthy notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak and mineral character. — 2 years ago
2019 vintage. "Grand Cras" is one of the 6 subzones ("climats") in Morgon, the second biggest Beaujolais cru. Juicy cherry fruit and good structure of soft tannin. Drinking very well now, but should age well for a few years. Great value at 7 euros. Mommessin is part of the Boisset empire, and Jean-Charles Boisset is definitely focusing on quality. — 4 years ago

Great expressive red fruit, hints of a sunset in the farm. Taking the age well this 2011. Acidity is remarkable. — 2 days ago
