An interesting one.
Smells to me like Cab Franc.
A lot of unripe fruit, pheonolic bitterness, high acid AND tannins. A real pucker up special.
I get the sense that it's heavily extracted but somehow it retains a kind of lightness and in some way a weird balance works out here. My it sure it would ever be a go-to wine, IDK maybe paired with a fatty fatty pig on a spit it might be just the ticket! — 8 days ago

Picarana is the “village” white, made with Albillo Real or Albillo de Madrid (completely different from Albillo Mayor found in Ribera del Duero) from different sites around San Martín de Valdeiglesias. White fruit, floral notes. Round, quite ripe, moderate acidity. — 2 years ago

Lovely nose of herbs and violets. Dark cherry fruit flavors with hints of tobacco and leather. Beautiful soft tannins and velvety texture. This wine has aged pretty well, but it is past its peak. Thank You Ron B! — 4 years ago

Estate dates back to Crusades & Scottish navigator, George Smith, owner in the 18th century. Followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel & Florence Cathiard now own estate. Blend of 60% Cab Sauv & 40% Merlot, dark berry aromas, herbs and earthy spice. On the complex palate flavors of cherry and currant with pepper, tobacco and cacao notes. Soft ripe tannins, long finish ending with an earthy mineral character. — 2 months ago

Telmo Rodriguez,Gago G, from Toro, Spain. 2017 vintage. Made of Tinta de Toro (local Tempernillo)and Albiño Mayor. Brilliant red color, delicate nose of light dill, black fruits and vanilla notes. Good structure, balanced, chewy. Went well with the Sinta steak. — 2 years ago
