Blend of Mandilaria and Mavro Aidani
Intense fresh sour black cherries, pomegranate juice, a whiff of black pepper, allspice.
On the palate this is fresh, with vibrant acidity and nice, juicy acidity.
This is on the leaner, fresher side with sour cherries galore… worked v. nicely with some grilled pork chops. — 3 years ago
Perfect summer red - definitely full bodied but on the lighter side. Hints of cherry and spice. — 4 months ago
Orange skin and spice. Slight salty and sourness. Minerals. Tasty. Good match with light taste Chinese food. Sideritis Orange Nature 20 @3600, Academy D JH, 240127-240206 — 10 months ago
Blend Shizaz, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Lefkada.
Red cherry aromas and palate, Bob calls out plum flavors, lighter body than the rosé, low acid with soft tannins. I got a glass of this one 🍷 — 5 months ago
Poured through a Venturi into a decanter prior to service. For a grape that has traditionally been used to make less-than-serious fortified wines, this was quite a serious Mavrodaphne indeed. From ungrafted vines, the 2020 “Mov” pours purple in color. A touch reticent early, this is developing and only beginners to open after about 30min after which it revealed it’s layered red and dark fruits, earth, cocoa, purple flowers, minerals and soft baking spices. Structure was medium+. Balanced and paired well with our beef and grilled eggplant. Only 800 bottles produced. — a year ago
