Popped and poured. While unusual, somewhat on-brand for Matteo Correggia, the 2010 “Le Marne Grigie” is a micro-production Bordeaux-blend (with a splash of Syrah) from Roero. The wine pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. No obvious signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous but still showing abundant ripe fruit: currants, plums, tobacco, bell pepper, some purple flowers, organic earth and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+(?) acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. Surprisingly youthful! Though this is certainly a bit left field, it retains it’s old world sensibilities. A fun wine to try if you can ever find it. Drink now and through 2030. — 3 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 pours a pale golden color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart orchard fruit: peach, honeysuckle, Marcona almonds, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with a waxy texture. Pretty tasty stuff from Correggia. Drink now through 2031. — a year ago

Meat juice, soy sauce, black tea, blackberry juice, ripe cherries, leather, oak, wet forest soil... a lot happens on the nose here ! The palate is a model of balance. Good acid drive, nice savoury, and meaty notes along with cherry and blackberry touches all along. The mid-palate is expanding into some kind of a ball, with only oak tannins, that powers up a long and broad finish with the same savoury, meaty notes, the same red and black fruit juice touches, a tiny salt thing in the very end and and overall sense of a wine that is complete. It's not a trendy wine. It's not gimmicky. It's the essence of a very well-made old world wine, but man, does it deliver. — 9 months ago

Wonderful Umbrian red blend. 2015 vintage. Great value. — 7 years ago
16.5/20 (90/100) Приятный, немного ликёрный аромат в котором доминируют тона вишни и ванили. Высокая кислотность и интенсивные танины. Тона выдержки в бочке становятся более очевидными во вкусе. Очень хорошо. — 8 years ago
