Deep ruby color. Aromas of cassis, toasted coconut and blackberry. Toasty oak, plum hint of vanilla with some fruity after tones.

Mario Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Held for a few years, this wine drank splendidly right off the cork. Deep and robust, notes of dark cherry berry balanced with a dry finish. Great on its own and with food. — 3 years ago

Big tar, macerated cherries, dried leaves, roses, dried and fresh and a depth to it. Very deep aromas. Palate is opulent, yet stern and juicy with fantastic purity and balance. Great finish. Long and juicy. Nice sweet fruit on the finish. Black cherry and mid season cherry. Great wine. Love 18. Nose is fantastic after 3 hours. Super floral and so enveloping. Palate is velvety but firm. Very fresh and classy wine. — 10 months ago

Makes sense, it would be odd if I commissioned it. 😉

Tenuta San Guido

Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 2020

Began in 1944, Mario Incisa acquired Cab Sauv & Franc vine cuttings, planted them on San Guido estate, called Castiglioncello, Sassicaia, "the place of many stones". A blend of 85% Cab Sauv, 15% Cab Franc. Lovely ripe fruit & spice aromas. Bold berry fruit flavors with spice, oak, leather & cacao, a powerhouse. Soft tannins allows current enjoyment. Long silky smooth fresh finish ending with fruit, oak and spice. Great now, will age, but drink now, outstanding. Little pricey at $300. Tasting Sample. — a year ago
