A superb Siepi, drier than I recall from last one, and more elegantly structured. Dry red fruit and a charred earth character that worked for me. Drink or hold. Il Pastaio is one of the rare Beverly Hills eateries worthy of the hype, and this was a great match for their awesome black truffle pastas. — 16 days ago

Fascinating. The moment it touches your tongue you get a bit a tickle almost like this is lightly carbonated. Bright and lively acid on the tip of your tongue that goes all the way to the back of your tongue with a ripe stewed fig flavor along with some cinnamon spice. Dark cassis and dried flowers. For my first Sicilian wine it’s a fascinating flavor combination I’m still trying to interpret. — 15 days ago

Tenuta Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato Bolgheri Super Tuscan Blend 2016

Friday night and I have opened the 2016 Marchesi Antinori IL Bruciato Tenuta Guado Al Tasso Super Tuscan Blend. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 15% Syrah.

On the nose is black cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, black currant, chocolate, a distinct savory quality, lilac and oak.

On the palate are dark fruits, black cherry, blackberry, black currant, licorice, tar, sweet oak, bell pepper, graphite, black pepper, savory notes and earth.

This wine is big, bold and full bodied with medium + to high acidity and medium + to high grippy sandy tannins that leads to a long dark fruit and earthy finish. Another weekend has arrived and let's treat the weekend with respect and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
