2003 vintage. Just enuff acidity to lord over the proceedings. Initially, “cheesy.” That dissipates somewhat and gets very harmonious very quickly. Cleans up a bit on the finish. Should be able to glide hither and yon for another 5-7 years at this level. 1.10.24. — 2 years ago
Please dear lord let it open to its full goodness. So far not. But the rich potential is there. — 4 years ago
Bursting with bright red fruits and herbs. Long finish and lingering dusty tannins. Yum. Just yum. — 6 years ago
Thank you to my good friend Andy Bunch for bringing this beer to try tonight. A rare treat for sure. Took a while to open up, bit man, it’s hitting its stride a couple hours later with notes of semi sweet chocolate, espresso liquor, brownie batter, vanilla, toasted nuts and almond oil. A rich brew with a 15%+ ABV. Black as old motor oil and super mouth coating. Yum yum yum. — 8 years ago
A fine medium bodied merlot, a fantastic finish, not too dry at all. Berry scents of blackberry and cherry on the nose. — a year ago
2008, oops. Either it’s good I accidentally opened this on my own or I’m mean. Needs manchego dang it, and all I’ve got is this hobo pizza a made. Not past it, funky in the right ways. And it may have been cheap.
I hour later after said pizza: Weirdly, it’s all chocolate cherry. — 3 years ago
Good lord…I can’t even taste any alcohol. Amazing balance, not jammy, finishes smooth. — 5 years ago

Bit more acidity than expected. 13.4 not bad for Cali Zin. Need to drink more zins. #resolution — 8 years ago

2019 vintage. Last tasted 07.30.23 (9.5). Good lord. This is still (unsurprisingly) effing ridiculous. Explosive and giving without being compliant. Every time tasting this, attempt to renounce Cabernet Sauvignon/BDX blends forever. Hopefully someday, I'll make it stick. 02.28.25. — a year ago
Blind Tasting Reds 2/13/21, wine 3. Dark red/garnet, vegetal and herby aromas dominate, medium high acid and tannins. — 5 years ago
Had this about 6 months ago. Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa was born at the beautiful Villa Vignamaggio in 1479, at the time her father, Anton Maria Gherardini was Lord of this ancient Tuscan Estate. Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh dark/red berry fruits and slight smoky spicy notes. On the palate Black Cherry and Cranberry flavors, well balanced with acidity and fine soft tannins. The finish is long ending with earthy citrus character. — 6 years ago
Great fruit forward table wine. Can drink this everyday — 7 years ago
Takes a while to open up - had it in a decanter for 30 min and it needed more than double that. But once it opened, my lord, was it good. Soft, supple approach, with raisin and molasses, and more of the fruit seeping through in a warm, spicy finish. — 8 years ago
