High five, still alive. 26 years old. A touch on the sweet side but plenty of fruit remains. Enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Purity Wine
2019 Cabernet Sauvignon - Lolonis Vineyard - Mendocino, CA
Organic, Dry farmed, 50+ yr old vines, harvested 10/11/19, pressed 11/25/19, bottled 12/19, consumed 3-17-20. Ingredients: Grape juice, fermented to wine. 13.5% ABV. Only natural occuring sulfites.
Proper well balanced fresh natty wine, decent acidty, bit tart, smells clean for a natty wine, some yeast sediment visible in bottle, slight fresh yeast note (freshly baked yeast dinner rolls) within the violet and plum scent gravel/cement note, wine is clear and a nice cab color.
Its good, and would happily repurchase. Amazed how non-negatively-impactful fresh natty wines can be.

Remix Wines — Old Vines White 2019 — Redwood Valley, Mendocino County, California. United States 🇺🇸
Overview:
A California-crafted white blend created by Master Sommelier Willie Scherer under the Remix Wines label, driven predominantly by old-vine Sauvignon Blanc planted in 1942 by the Lolonis family in Redwood Valley, with a smaller portion of Sémillon layered in for texture and depth. The style nods toward a Bordeaux Blanc sensibility while expressing bright California energy and vineyard heritage.
Aromas & Flavors:
Fresh grapefruit, white pear, ripe apricot, subtle citrus oil, light oak influence, and a clean mineral thread.
Mouthfeel:
Bright, dry, and energetic with a creamy mid-palate texture. Lively acidity keeps the wine lifted while subtle oak and old-vine concentration add quiet richness and length.
Food Pairings:
Grilled halibut or sea bass, roast chicken with herbs, citrus-driven salads, goat cheese, shellfish, or lightly spiced Mediterranean dishes.
Personal Pick:
This is not your everyday white blend — it scratches my Bordeaux Blanc itch while keeping a distinctly Californian personality. I love it as a conversation bottle when I want to surprise people who think they’ve “seen it all” in Sauvignon Blanc.
Verdict:
A distinctive, old-vine-driven white delivering complexity, texture, and originality. Excellent for adventurous palates and collectors of character-driven blends.

Nose has under-ripe peach, lemon zest, cold chalk and wet beach sand.
Palate has pineapple core, dried lemon, sea spray and dehydrated peach.
Nice balanced acidity, no real herbal notes to speak of, a different expression than the traditional style. This wine should have a long life ahead, drink 2024-31.
The inaugural, single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc for Saracina from the Lolonis Vineyard; possibly some of the oldest SB vines in the US, planted in 1942.
