Tenuta San Guido

Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 1999

Jamaica allspice submerged in black cherry, black raisin, African violets, red roses, cooked poppyseed, grilled, wine marinated steak with rosemary garnish. The palate is silky with medium mouthfeel and stealthy tannic hooks are whisked away like burrs and prickles on a satin sock. Sweet Connecticut wrap of tobacco is assisted by a minute mocha and black peppercorn. This took a while to open, surprisingly, but well worth the wait!

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Rosé Blend 2016

Just the best rosè. Always killer. It’s on the higher end for rosè but sometimes so worth it. — 5 years ago

815 California Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

It was worth waiting on this. All the bit was gone and was replaced with real earthy body. Exceptionally different wine when it gets older. — 5 years ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1990

30 years in the bottle but still wonderful fruit but tannins relaxed like a a warm autumn day which is what we were blessed with, this is my favoured Bordeaux always giving with a forgiving price, worth the wait — 5 years ago

Comtes de Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne Chardonnay 2007

You just can't best this 2007 vintage comtes de comtes. Just so light on the palette but the flavours still immense. Celebrated with this over the weekend and worth every drop in my mouth. — 4 years ago

Ensemble Lock Vineyard Petit Verdot Blend 2015

Ming L
9.0

The 15’ bottling sees Petit Verdot leading this Bordeaux blend at 32%, with 26% CS, 26% Merlot, 13% CF, and 3% Malbec.
Complex and deep nose of blackberry, cassis, fig, dry pine cone, dark soy source, butterscotch, thyme, black pepper, with hint of violet. The palate, while delicious and smooth, lacks the depth I expected. Finely grained tannins lead to a long peppery finish.
