Very classy yet pent up. Drinks pretty good now, but was opened way in advance of tasting. Reminded me of Heitz Martha's Vineyard a bit. Blackberries, medicinal herb, lavender, and fine tannins.

Imagine ripe blackberries bleeding into the wet ground - very earthy. One of my favorites

Going vertical w/ '13. It's been a night of mid-9's. Terroir is everything in this bottle - earthy, well balanced with great structure.

What an iconic wine. One could even say it was the catalyst in changing the Italian wine scene. Unfortunately I don't think this wine was showing its best today so a little bit hard to rate but none the less... Blackcurrant, raspberry, raspberry leaf, herbaceous and a smidge of oak. Impressively structured wine as one would expect, but wasn't forbidding.

A slightly late Thanksgiving dinner in Shanghai on Sunday evening. A full house so why not a Jerobaum of Sassacaia to celebrate with a crowd. 2013 vintage. Elegant and polished but still young, I suspect this would have improved over the years ahead. Not so deep noted as some other years- red fruits, currant, young cherries. Awesome aroma. The crowd loved it.
