The 2004 Vintage is a gorgeous Champagne that is just beginning to enter its first plateau of maturity. Dried flowers, brioche, mint, marzipan, tangerine peel and spice lend notable nuance throughout. A hint of reduction adds intrigue. As always, the 2004 is a linear, focused Champagne endowed with terrific energy. It is impeccably done. There's a bit more Chardonnay and Meunier than usual in this vintage, and that very much comes through in the wine's personality and overall feel. The blend is 37% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 24% Meunier as opposed to the more classic 50%/35%/15% blend. Disgorged: Summer 2018. Krug ID: 318031. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2024)

1996 vintage. Multiple (6) bottles tasted 1hr, 2hrs and 4 hrs after decanting. Sleek and linear. Not gratuitous and giving just yet but close. Needs another 5-7 years to absolutely ingratiate itself into your psyche/cellar/glass if you're a robot/AI or actually have patience. Sexy af. Decided and dedicated temptress throwing out just enough historic, Lalande-styled love currently to seduce completely if your patience is lacking. Total siren song. Fill those ears with wax and watch your bank account. Beware. This just may be the longest lived Lalande vintage I've ever hit. Discounted the 1996 vintage big-time initially but deffy mistaken with this specific/particular wine. Hard to locate but if you do, it's a go to. Been trying to source since tasting this vintage, without luck, since this visit. Number one on the Most Wanted BDX list currently. Pray for me. 4.4.23. — 2 years ago
Very nice tonight with a pork schnitzel and excited to see how this develops. Opened 10 hours before dinner and decanted for 3 hours. I do think the air helped everything even out a bit. Nice restrained fruit, good linear core of minerality and acid, decently fresh with still some ever so slightly funky earth on the finish. — 6 months ago
This is actually the reserve which is aged in barrel longer. Stunning wine. Nose is super mineral and white cherries. Also iodine and white pepper. Some juicy peach and tangelo. Gorgeous. Palate is rich and energetic with outrageous complexity and elegance. Wow the sweet white cherries and apricots are decadent but this is linear and straight and so focused. Stunning. What a finish. These wines demand age. Will go to 9.7 and 9.8 with air. — 7 months ago
Light straw colour . Pretty mineral and focused on the palate . Linear with lemon oil , touch of brioche and white flowers . Quite intense on the palate with real focus , very fresh acidity but with enough body to cover . This tastes very young really and probably needs more time to be at peak . Wait another 5 years perhaps and will probably last another 10-15 — 10 months ago
